Student Awards

I'm very  proud of all my students at every level for working hard and pursuing a  goal of improving their craft as musicians.  Many  of my students accomplish personal goals of improving to a level allowing them to perform with local  rock and pop bands. Other students reach goals of being able to read or  attain greater improvisational skills to play with their church,  worship groups or  working jazz ensembles. Finally, there are those students who I have taught who aspire to professional careers as musicians and have gone on to work in recording studios, symphony orchestras, rock groups with major label development deals and touring bands. Whatever your personal goal in the world of music, your reward will be years of increased musical ability and joy through education which starts right here.

Some notable recognition for several of my students include the following:

• Former student Robert Ashley pursuing a professional career as bassist with major studio credits and work with symphony orchestras including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, LA Philharmonic and many more.
  
• Student's metal band received Artist Development deal with Atlantic Records..
  
• Student was awarded the position in the Southern California All Star High School Honor Jazz Band in 2002 while under my tutelage.
  
• Student was awarded the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award - Aliso Viejo Middle School 1999.
  
• Student was accepted to UCLA as a music major in string studies.
  
• Several students have been accepted to Berklee College of Music.
  
• Student was accepted to Hofstra University as music major in jazz studies.
  
• Several students studied with me for months or years to prepare for acceptance to AIM (Atlanta Institute of Music).
